Orepuki Beach and it is a Beach with a capital B
Down where the South Island breathes in, taking to heart great draughts of the boisterous southern sea air.
It is rarely still on these coasts as great roilings of the tumultuous drop swathes of grey and wet across the landscape.
You know you are alive down here, a part of the energy that flows the full length of the island.
I have a bias for this place, it moves me, it has weather, it is very
much alive down where the Roaring Forties offer challenge to the land
A couple maybe, or two at least
It's the light you know, that makes a scene, not so much the idea it is
this or that. Just a span of reflect and refract coagulated into forms
we feel we know as they ripple through our consciousness. Of course
there could be a question mark over all that but yet again it is your
choice, you decide.
Threading ones way through the maze
Dave led me to here, then pointed a path through the labyrinth way.
It seems to me we each create our own labyrinth way, confined by rules
and reg's, twists and turns, so involved and confined we forget to look
up and see there are wider sky's above not so far away. I have to admit
though there is something about a corner into the unknown, a tunnel to
tempt and maybe, just maybe, a sense secure when being cradled in the
arms of the earth........ and yet there just above, just beyond, the
constraints are few the options wide.
Satin sunsets to come
Hazy distance in a softer light as the day draws towards a close.
Gentle moments to drift through the sandy ways as the gaze extends out
to sea, all signs pointing far away.
Fading ember into the sands of night
is nothing quite like those moments before the dark, no two ever
the same, but still a sunset yes, as they say "the devil is in the detail" or
should that be "the data is in the detail" it amounts to the same thing
for many I suppose
I wonder what all the sunsets stacked together
would look like, they did it with pictures of people and the combined result was a
being so beauty-full.............
Maybe this is what awaits as we each expand to encompass the whole.
Ahhhh feel that warmth
is obviously something to be said in favour of fur and fat particularly
on a sometimes coolish day when one is adorning the ruggedness of rock
No princess and the pea syndrome here that is for sure.
Tricky twinnings amongst the monoliths
am sure that amongst this lot somewhere there is a metaphor for what is
happening to society in the wider sense.
I will let you ponder that
then while I wonder how far that fell, how many corners bounced upon, to end up looking like that.
Softness surrounds the definition
is little in this that is actually soft except maybe the vision, (or the
mind with age), so yet again I am reminded of the beauty and wonder to
be found in forms of that which many would discard in disgust.
Sometimes it pays to look a little closer at the worlds within.
